Fraternidad-Muprespa supports COP25 Chile-Madrid 2019

Fraternidad-Muprespa joins the fight against climate change, actively participating in COP25. The Conference of the Parties (COP) is the supreme decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

COP25 is taking place between 2 and 13 December in Madrid and will serve as a mechanism for the attending countries to finalise the implementing regulations of the Paris Agreement, conceived as the first binding global pact in defence of the planet’s climate, which has to be fully in force by January 2020.

The implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will also be addressed.

The convention will bring together thousands of scientists, entrepreneurs, institutional representatives, non-governmental organisations and governments from all over the world.

A total of 25,000 people will participate in two contiguous spaces provided by IFEMA, one for official country meetings and negotiations and the other for side events such as presentations of scientific reports or NGO events.

There will also be another important meeting point, the axis “Castellana verde”, where Fraternidad-Muprespa will participate by offering a day at the Hospital Fraternidad-Muprespa Habana, the most sustainable hospital in Europe, which has been chosen as one of the 101 best initiatives against climate change and will be presented on 5 December at COP25 by the Community #PorElClima.

It is a hospital devised and designed to achieve optimum efficiency in the use of resources and with a very low environmental impact. To this end, the LEED standard has been used as a reference, obtaining the maximum score achieved by a hospital to date, which has led it to obtain the LEED Healthcare Platinum certificate.
